Caring Kodiaks, a committee of the H. Clarke Powers PTC, is dedicated to meeting the needs of our own H. Clarke Powers families. We would like to raise the level of caring in our community and among our students.

This year, we’re excited to bring back our "New to You" Clothes Swap. Our Clothes Swaps will be held on Friday October 14th/Saturday October 15th and Friday, April 20th/21st. Our Clothes Swap is open to everyone in our community. This is the perfect time to donate new or gently used clothes (newborn-adult) that your family has outgrown and come to our Clothes Swap and get clothes and other items for everyone in your family. You do not have to donate to receive clothes. Invite your friends and neighbors, we want to help everyone in our community.

Our Giving Tree provides an opportunity for families at our school to help fulfill the needs of students and families at H. Clarke Powers during the Christmas Season. Families at our school have been so generous in giving to our Giving Tree Program the past two years. Look for more information to come.

Through Caring Kodiaks, we can help families with meals at home, school supplies for children, or other individual family needs that may arise. These families and their needs are kept confidential. If you know of a need in our community, please let Caring Kodiaks know. We want to help everyone in our community. Our Caring Kodiaks goal is to fulfill the needs of everyone in our H. Clarke Powers community.

Funding for Caring Kodiaks comes from Family Movie Nights, where all proceeds from the sale of snack bar items benefit our Caring Kodiaks Program, and from Classroom Bake Sales, in which 10% goes to Caring Kodiaks. Donations can also be made directly to the Caring Kodiaks Program. Simply put a check in the PTC drop box in the office, made out to HCP PTC, and designate Caring Kodiaks in the memo line.

We would like to have more activities this year for student involvement to promote a caring community. If you have ideas, or would like to get involved and help, please contact us. We are striving to raise the level of caring in our community and among our students, and we need help to make it happen.
